How Transfer Decals Work
A transfer sticker, sometimes called a cut vinyl decal, is a type of sticker that has no background. The design is precision-cut from solid vinyl, and the excess material is removed so only the lettering or artwork remains. This creates a clean, professional look that blends directly into the surface it’s applied to.
After the design is cut and weeded, a layer of transfer tape is applied on top. This tape holds all parts of the design in place during installation, allowing you to apply detailed graphics, text, or logos in one smooth step. Once the decal is adhered to the surface, the transfer tape is removed, leaving only the vinyl design behind.
Transfer stickers are commonly used for vehicle lettering, window graphics, equipment labeling, and branded signage. Because there is no background material, they offer a seamless appearance that works especially well on glass, metal, and other smooth surfaces.
