Because the sticker sits behind the window, the glass helps protect it from direct rain, scraping, and handling from outside. It also keeps the sticker less accessible from the exterior without making the unsupported promise that it is completely “tamper-proof.”

Choose a White-Backed or Clear Look

Front-Adhesive Stickers come in two material options: Front-Adhesive Standard Vinyl and Front-Adhesive Clear Vinyl. Both are actually made using clear vinyl. The difference is what happens behind your printed design.

Front-Adhesive Standard Vinyl includes a full layer of white ink behind the artwork. That white backing gives your design a more solid, opaque appearance and creates a look similar to printing on white vinyl.

Front-Adhesive Clear Vinyl does not automatically include that full white backing, so areas meant to be transparent can stay transparent. White ink can still be added behind specific parts of the artwork when your design needs it.

If you want your sticker to look more like a traditional printed sticker when viewed through the window, Standard Vinyl is the straightforward choice. If seeing the glass through parts of the design is important, Clear Vinyl gives you that option.

Choose Light or Standard Adhesive

You can also choose between Light Adhesive and Standard Adhesive. Front adhesive doesn't mean these stickers use a completely different kind of glue. It describes how the sticker is made and applied, with the adhesive on the side of the design that faces the glass.

Light Adhesive is the lower-strength option and is a good fit when easier removal later is more important. Standard Adhesive provides more holding strength for applications where you want a more secure bond to the window.

Permanent Adhesive is not offered for Front-Adhesive Stickers, so you don't have to sort through an option that isn't intended for this product.

Why Put the Sticker on the Inside of the Glass?

Sometimes the easiest way to keep a window sticker looking good is to move it away from the outside world altogether. With a Front-Adhesive Sticker, the glass sits between the printed sticker and anyone or anything outside the window.

That can be especially useful for storefront graphics that people see from the sidewalk, parking or membership identification displayed in a vehicle, security-related window stickers, and other designs you want visible from outside while keeping the sticker itself indoors.

The sticker still needs a clean glass surface for a good application, but once it's installed, you don't have an exposed sticker sitting on the exterior side of the window.

Front-Adhesive Stickers or Static Cling?

Front-Adhesive Stickers aren't the only way to place a design inside a window and have it face outward. Static Cling Stickers can also be installed this way.

The main difference is how they stay on the glass. Front-Adhesive Stickers use adhesive, while Static Cling uses no adhesive at all. If you want an adhesive-backed sticker that stays attached to the window, Front-Adhesive Stickers give you that option. If avoiding adhesive is more important, Static Cling may be worth considering instead.
