White Ink Can Help Your Artwork Stand Out

Clear vinyl doesn't provide its own white background, so white ink can play an important role in the finished design. If your artwork actually contains white elements, those areas need white ink in order to print as white instead of becoming transparent.

White ink can also be placed behind selected colors to give them more opacity. This can be especially helpful when your sticker will be applied to a darker or strongly colored surface where the background might otherwise show through the printed colors.

You don't automatically need white behind every part of a clear sticker. The goal is to use it where it helps the design look the way you intend while still preserving the transparent areas that make clear vinyl useful.

Choose Light or Standard Adhesive

Clear Stickers are available with Light Adhesive or Standard Adhesive. Both use the same transparent vinyl appearance, but they give you different levels of adhesive strength.

Light Adhesive is the lower-strength option and is useful when easier future removal matters. Standard Adhesive provides a stronger hold for general-purpose applications where you want the sticker to stay more securely in place.

Both clear vinyl options are rated for 2 years of outdoor use. The difference between Light and Standard Adhesive is the strength of the adhesive, not a longer outdoor lifespan for one material. Actual performance can still vary with the surface, installation, exposure, and other real-world conditions.

Gloss Lamination Is Included

Clear Stickers include gloss lamination, giving the finished sticker a smooth glossy surface and adding a protective layer over the printed design. The clear vinyl itself is 3 mil thick and measures 6 mil with the laminate applied.

Gloss is the finish used with Clear Vinyl, so unlike many of our standard white vinyl stickers, there isn't a matte-or-gloss finish decision to make on this product.

Clear Stickers for Cars and Vehicle Windows

Clear Stickers can be a good way to add logos, lettering, graphics, or other information to vehicle windows and other suitable smooth surfaces while allowing the surface underneath to remain visible around the printed artwork.

Keep the background in mind when designing for a vehicle. Dark glass, tinted windows, or strongly colored surfaces can change how printed colors appear, and white ink may be helpful when important parts of the design need more contrast.

Need the Sticker Inside the Window?

Clear Stickers and Front-Adhesive Stickers both use clear vinyl, but they're built for different kinds of application.

Standard Clear Stickers are adhesive-backed printed stickers. If you specifically want to apply the sticker to the inside of a window and have the design read correctly when viewed from outside, choose Front-Adhesive Stickers. They're reverse printed and designed for that inside-window viewing direction.
