Inside Application Stickers: Materials and Best Uses

At CarStickers.com, we offer stickers made from a wide variety of materials, each designed for specific uses. From inside and outside application stickers to reflective, glitter, and even one-way visibility options, we have the perfect material for your needs. And remember—our stickers aren’t just for cars! They’re perfect for storefront windows, outdoor advertising, and countless other creative applications.

This post is part of a multi-blog series exploring the different materials we use. We’ll cover the benefits and drawbacks of each material and share tips for selecting the right type for your project.

Inside Application Stickers

Inside application stickers are designed to be placed on the inside of a window but viewed from the outside. Because they are protected from weather and outdoor conditions, they are tamper-proof and long-lasting. However, these stickers should only be used on completely clear, untinted windows to ensure your design is visible.

Front-Facing Adhesive Stickers

Front-Facing Adhesive stickers are ideal for uses like parking permits or storefront signage. These stickers are reverse-printed on clear vinyl, then backed with a layer of white vinyl. This technique ensures that your design colors pop while also protecting your window from ink staining.

Clear Vinyl Stickers

Clear Vinyl stickers can be made for either inside or outside application. If you plan to use them inside for outside viewing, we recommend reverse-printing your design for the best results.

However, keep in mind that Clear Vinyl is not always the best option. Even when applied to untinted car windows, these stickers can be difficult to see from the outside. We’ll go into more detail about the drawbacks of this material in our next post.

Both Front-Facing Adhesive and Clear Vinyl stickers may leave some adhesive residue when removed and typically last between 1 and 5 years.

Static Clings

Static clings are made from a thin plastic film that uses static electricity to “cling” to smooth surfaces like glass. They are easy to apply, remove, and reuse, with no sticky residue left behind. Because they are not weather-resistant, we recommend using them indoors only. We’ll explore Static Clings in detail in our upcoming blog post, “Repositionable Stickers.”
