Partnering with Central Oregon Trail Alliance
Stickers that give back.
At Car Stickers, we’re all about community—and that means giving back. In 2021, we joined 1% for the Planet, pledging to donate 1% of our annual sales to environmental nonprofits. One of our proudest partnerships? The Central Oregon Trail Alliance (COTA), right here in our own backyard.
About COTA
COTA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Bend, Oregon. Run by passionate volunteers, they build and maintain trails in Central Oregon alongside agencies like the US Forest Service and BLM. Their mission is simple but powerful: to develop, protect, and enhance the mountain biking experience through trail stewardship, advocacy, and education.
The trails we ride today have deep roots. What began as old logging roads evolved into some of the best biking trails in the Northwest—thanks to early advocacy and smart collaboration. Back in the early '90s, mountain biking was just gaining momentum, and COTA’s founders worked with land managers to make these trails official—complete with signage and kiosks. That set the stage for what would become one of Oregon’s most beloved trail systems.
Trail Advocacy in Action
In 1998, a proposed surface rock extraction project threatened to destroy Phil’s Trail. COTA rallied the community, gathering 3,000 signatures to stop the project in its tracks. That kind of grassroots action is what makes them such a powerful force in Central Oregon’s outdoor scene.
Over the years, COTA has expanded far beyond Bend—working in Redmond, Prineville, and across the region. With help from the Forest Service, they built the Wanoga Complex, a hub for competitive events and heavier trail use. And through it all, they’ve stayed true to their message: Build. Ride. Respect.
Why We Support Them
We’ve supported COTA through monetary and in-kind donations, helping them keep building and educating. We’ve also printed custom stickers to boost awareness and custom magnets to help identify their gear and trucks in the field.
We love Central Oregon—it’s our home. We’re right in the middle of it all: rafting the Deschutes, hiking the high desert, skiing Mt. Bachelor, and biking on the very trails COTA maintains. This connection to the outdoors is why we believe so deeply in their work.
